The fruit of pruning is in Hebrews 12:11 "Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but grievous, nevertheless, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of rightousness to those who have been trained by it.." Pruning is necessary in producingthe fruit of the spirit. Chastening is not punishment, it is a simple part of pruning dead branches. Pruning is done so that more fruit will be produced.
