This Year’s arrangement has allowed Deacons an opportunity to mature as they are running their own conference

The first ever Deeper Life Conference for Deacons in the greater Harare Area began with tremendous excitement on Monday, April 23, 2012.  After much anticipation following the Elder’s Deeper Life conference two weeks prior, deacons were excited as Apostle Drs Ezekiel and Eunor Guti encouraged them in the work of the Lord, beginning with a message by Apostle Dr. EH Guti entitled “What is a Deacon?”

This is the 41st annual deeper life conference; however in preceding years, the conference was held with a combination of Elders and Deacons.  Having seen that Elders and Deacons could no longer fit in the AMFCC Bible School Tabernacle, the Deeper Life Conference Committee together with Apostle Dr. EH Guti declared that Deacons and Elders would now have their own separate conferences, a change that has proved to be timely, and divinely ordained.

“You can really sense the impact of this change,” said one student-Pastor who resides at AMFCC College and witnessed both conferences.  “It has allowed Deacons an opportunity to mature as they are running their own conference.  It’s also allowed for a distinction to be clear between the maturity levels of Elders and Deacons, so that they may have messages and lessons that are tailor-made to their understanding.”

Apostle Dr. EH Guti preached to the deacons explaining the role of a deacon in the church.

  • A Deacon is someone who received that position because they were active in the church and being very helpful.  However is someone is no longer being active and is now lazy, they can no longer remain a deacon.
  • A Deacon is someone who must arrive early to church and make sure things are in order, yet some deacons come late to church.

The conference began on a high note through the instruction of Apostle Dr. EH Guti, Dr. Carlton Arthurs, and many other speakers.
